Who Pays for our Services?

How can older people afford home care services?
Our service doesn’t replace the need for medical care, but is a supplement to it. It’s not unusual for our clients to have a nurse who drops by for an hour, once or twice a week.  Yet many people need non-medical care all day long to avoid moving into a nursing home.
How do they pay for it?
Virtually every older person who needs care prefers to have this care provided in their own homes.  When we consider the high cost of nursing homes and assisted living facilities (from $25,000 to $100,000 US per year), we understand how our clients spend between $15,000 and $50,000 per year for our home care services.  Although these are not insignificant sums, this expenditure is usually made during the last two to three years of life.  Home care services are not an optional, luxury service for our clients.  Many older people reach a crossroad in life where they can no longer care for themselves and must make a decision as to how this care can best be obtained.
The vast majority of our clients are not wealthy; they are from middle class and “working class” households.  We are convinced that there is a great demand for our services in every market. For our clients, it’s simple . . . There’s No Place Like Home!
